The pieces I make are functional wares that I want to serve as facilitators.  I’ve heard so many great stories that start, “So I was having a beer with. . .”, these stories always include some form of food, drink, and social interaction.  I want my pieces to invite people to use them.
Cooking, music, and good friends have been a big part of my life along with clay.  Integrating the ideas of what my works will be used for and marks that make up my wares is very important to me.  Much of my inspiration is drawn from cartoon style animations that use over-exaggerated lines to express ideas, and from modern design elements.  I am continually trying to join these concepts together in new ways to make pieces that accentuate social occasions and are utilized in people’s daily routine.
